Season ends in an extra innings heart breaker

We played another close game today, losing to the Napa Sheriffs 8-6 in ten innings.  We got down early 3-0 in the first inning but answered back with 4 runs in the top of the first.  Matt Thomas gave us a strong pitching performance and Sean Prihar threw well in relief.  We were one pitch away from closing the game when we got a fly ball to center field, but we were unable to close out the game and ended up losing in extra innings.  It was an eventful season to say the least and I’m proud of how hard our kids played this season.  Unfortunately we didn’t play very clean baseball in the World Series and it cost us.  Already looking forward to next season.

Win in game one vs. Tri City Gamblers

Today we were able to play well enough to advance against the Tri City Gamblers.  It was a close game early and then we were able to create separation late behind a good pitching performance from Jace Puckett.  Jake Bray came in to close to hold down the victory.  We played catch pretty well and were able to scratch out ten hits.  Tomorrow we play the Northwest Royals at 4:45 PM.

State Championship game a good one today

Today we were lucky to come out on top 11-10 against the Northwest Royals who did a great job hitting the baseball and were extremely competitve all game.  Our guys did their best to play “dirtbag” baseball and found a way to come back twice in the game.  We have two days off before starting practice for the World Series.  We leave on Thursday and play on Friday at 5 PM vs. the Tri-City Gamblers.

Great game today with Northwest Royals

Jace Puckett threw a great game and we played solid defense behind him.  We were able to get the win 1-0 and will play Sunday for the Joe Dimaggio State title.

Won our first state tournament game vs. Knights B

Dennis Morelli gave us another solid effort on the mound and we played pretty good defense.  Our hitting didn’t come around until late in the game with Jake Bray coming up with 6 RBI and Kam Van Winkle hitting a two run home run.  We play the Northwest Royals Saturday.

Incredible day of baseball vs. Bay Area Warriors

We played pretty well in the first game behind and impressive pitching performance from Dennis Morelli.  Brett Valley delivered a big, two out hit and Roman Hucks game in for the save for a 3-1 victory.  In game two we were down 2-0 most of the game but battled back to tie it at two on a two out double from Jake Bray.  In the top of the eighth the Warriors got two runs, then we came back and scored three in the bottom of the eighth for the victory.  We get four days off from playing a game, but will practice Wednesday before we play on Friday in the start of our Joe D State Tournament.

Swept today by the San Mateo White Sox

We stunk today.  The San Mateo White Sox are a good ball club and are well coached.  We will try to do better tomorrow.

Tough split today vs. Vacaville Rattlers

Harrison Call pitched a great game today in game one and we were able to manufacture some runs and play good defense.  We were fortunate to win 3-1 against a competitive club in the Vacaville Rattlers.  Game two we held onto a 3-2 lead heading into the seventh inning but a couple of errors defensively allowed them to take the lead.  We loaded the bases at the end of the game but were unable to plate any runs.  We have to learn not to be so selfish in key situations.  If we can master that, we have a chance to go deep into the post season.
