Muckdogs 16U Spring Team

The Muckdogs Baseball Club formulated a 16U Spring Team in the spring of 2020, and the team was an extremely competitive group.  We attracted several of the top players in the area to be a part of our spring group.  2021 will be an exciting spring, as we plan to build off the momentum that was created from the inaugural spring season.  The 16U spring team is another pillar within the organization that will bridge to the 17U summer team, and then to the 17U fall/winter team.

It will be an experience for our players that will allow them to continue to play high level baseball, with qualified coaching, while still leaving them plenty of time to focus on their academics.  We have been in contact with some of the other top travel organizations in the country, such as Headfirst Baseball, who have put together comparable spring products together for their players and families.  We will work closely with these organizations to develop our spring teams.  Our spring clubs will practice three times a week.  We will play 30 games over the course of our twelve and a half week spring season, that will provide competitive play, development and exposure for our athletes.

We have also added a strength training component to the spring season, forging a relationship with with Ryan Butler, the owner of Reno Athlete Development And Fitness.  Ryan is a former Muckdogs player and current Muckdogs coach.  He played college baseball and graduated from the University of Nevada, and is a NASM certified strength and conditioning coordinator.  Incorporating  functional training and conditioning during our spring season will help our players gain more strength and athleticism.

2021 16U Spring Season Outlook

The 16U spring team will play a thirty-game schedule over the course of the twelve week spring season.  We will make two trips to Phoenix, Arizona where we will get to play organizations from all across the country.  The remainder of our games will be played at our home complex, Golden Eagle Regional Park in Sparks, Nevada.

We will practice three days a week with this group, as well as incorporating a strength and conditioning component twice a week. We have formed a partnership with former college baseball player and current NASM certified strength and conditioning coordinator, Ryan Butler, and his company Reno Athlete Development And Fitness.

Practices during the week will be indoors, at our indoor facility.  Outdoor practices will be at Golden Eagle Regional Park, the 28 million dollar, all-turf complex.  All home games will be played at Golden Eagle Regional Park, as well.
